Themba Nkosi

Lowveld · Mpumalanga

SOUTH BIOME Partner

Themba Nkosi has been cultivating coffee on his family's land in the Lowveld for over fifteen years. What began as an experiment with a few dozen seedlings has grown into a thriving operation producing some of the region's most distinctive beans.

The farm sits at 1,200 metres, where cool nights and warm days create the slow ripening conditions that develop complex flavours. Themba processes each harvest using traditional washed methods, fermenting the cherries in concrete tanks built by his grandfather.

"The soil here has memory," he says. "It remembers every season, every rain. The coffee carries that story."
